A Warm, Inviting Dining Room

Sharing one of my most recently completed rooms, an interconnecting dining room. This room is a little different in style to my usual design handwriting but is a particular favourite of mine.

The room oozes warmth, character and charm and celebrates the traditional features of the property. It also has a touch of JALB style to finish off the look!

We kept the original exposed brickwork on the back wall and chimney breast and complimented it with the introduction of a lovely rich, burnt terracotta colour to the gable end wall (paint colour is 'Spanked' by COAT Paint). The ceiling was vaulted and the original beams were lightened using two products that I've used a number of times now and absolutely love. The first product is Crème de la Crème, the second is a Browning Wax, both by Frenchic Paint.
We used this paint and wax on the inside of the front door within this client project and the results were fantastic (before and after shots, below).

I opted for a round dining table to keep the space feeling soft and inviting, upholstered chairs for a more formal dining vibe and atmospheric lighting in the wine store, along the ceiling beam and above the dining table to provide a enjoying dining experience.
A patterned, floral, fabric was used for the curtains which, if I am to be totally honest, is an unusual pick for me (!) but it works so well within the space and enabled me to feed through a consistent pattern to the interconnecting living room which brought a sense of flow and connection to the two spaces.
Stay tuned for a post on the living room so you can shop that look too!
